Last week I met with our Chief Constable Kate Meynell to discuss policing priorities in Sherwood.
The vast majority of emails I get, and conversations I have locally, regard anti-social behaviour and police visibility.
I discussed this with the Chief Constable and she has made clear it is a priority for them as well. The plan is to go back to more of a neighbourhood police model, with regular patrols by the same officers, making them much more visible.
Anti-social behaviour is a priority for officers, and what they ask is that we report every incident to 101, unless it is an emergency. The more incidents that are recorded mean more resources will be deployed to an area.
I also brought up conversations with business owners in Hucknall, Edwinstowe and Ollerton recently about shoplifting, and the need to support businesses.
The Hucknall Town Crime Business Forum has launched to support Hucknall businesses and the police will be supporting in other areas.
Again please report any shoplifting to the police no matter how much is taken.
I will continue to work with the police to ensure we can crack down on crime, and ensure everyone feels safe in their home and out in the community.
