I'm very pleased to say that to help support the aviation industry, the Government is to provide £100 million in support to airports across the country.
As part of the global response to the coronavirus, travel abroad has been limited, and this is obviously having a considerable impact on the aviation industry, so I know this support will be very welcome.
In terms of what this means for us here in Sherwood, our two closest airports, East Midlands Airport EMA and Doncaster Sheffield Airport will each receive up to £8 million of funding each. This not only supports the British Aviation Industry, but will also help towards supporting local jobs for those working in that sector throughout this period.
